01

What the wallet actually controls

Assets are recorded on blockchains. A wallet manages keys, prepares transactions and displays information from network services. In a self-custody model, signing authority stays with the user, while RPC providers and indexers can still affect balance visibility, broadcasting and privacy. A display issue alone does not change the underlying ledger.

02

Three families, different rules

EVM networks use account balances, transaction nonces, gas and smart-contract calls. Solana uses its own account model, token programs and recent blockhash rules. Bitcoin spends unspent outputs and returns change. A common wallet interface does not make derivation, fees or recovery identical across these families.

03

Routing, providers and finality

Common routing technologies include 0x for same-chain liquidity and THORChain, SwapKit and HoudiniSwap for cross-chain routes. Each model has distinct confirmation, liquidity, fee and refund rules. Availability depends on the providers used by a particular application version. Review the provider identified in your quote and track source and destination independently.
